The months leading up to a wedding are full, full, full—brimming with the potential for overwhelm, stress and frustration. Keeping the honeymoon planning process free from these things is one of the main reasons couples reach out for professional help designing an extraordinary travel experience, but there are other less obvious benefits of working with an expert, too.
One that’s often overlooked?
Guaranteeing yourself a vacation that’s executed as seamlessly as possible—a perk couples don’t necessarily realize until life—like it so loves to do—throws a curveball at your travel plans.
This is top of mind for me right now, as I spent some of last week dealing with the domino effect cancelled flights often cause.
As a sweet couple of mine was at the airport waiting to celebrate the start of their happily-ever-after in Venice, everyone’s least favorite word while they’re traveling appeared on the departures screen.
Their flight was grounded for the night.
Thankfully, they were re-booked almost immediately—but on a plane headed to Germany, where they’d need to spend almost 24 hours before continuing to Italy a day later than they’d planned.
As you can imagine, this created a litany of other changes that needed to be made to their itinerary. Most importantly, finding them a place to stay overnight in Germany and making sure their private driver in Venice knew they’d be arriving much later than expected.
When you’re 30,000 feet in the air for hours on end, making these kinds of changes is a lot easier said than done. Unless, of course, you’re working with a travel professional who will happily make the necessary switches for you.
In other words, trusting your honeymoon to a professional not only helps ensure effortless planning upfront, but it also means you have someone in your corner to help alleviate any turbulence caused by a canceled flight—or any other number of unforeseen circumstances most people encounter if they travel frequently enough.
There’s no way to avoid some of the most common pitfalls of traveling every single time you take to the skies, but hiring a professional is one way to make such situations a lot less stressful.
