Earlier this month J & K shared some of the magic of their honeymoon to Moorea and Bora Bora, including what they loved most (e.g., relaxing in their overwater bungalow, snorkeling with sting rays and sharks and hiking to a romantic waterfall. This week, they’re back with more advice on how to make the most of planning your dream vacation—no matter what honeymoon destination you have your eyes on.
What advice do you have for future honeymooners?
For future honeymooners , USE A TRAVEL AGENT! J and I had never done this before, and we couldn't be happier with that decision. Amy took so much of the hard work off our plate, from research to organization, and that made our whole trip smooth and stress-free.
Oh, and for couples honeymooning in the French Polynesia, another small tip for this particular location is to buy some bottles of wine or champagne at the duty free store at the airport. If you do not purchase an all-inclusive option, which there aren’t a ton of in the French Polynesia, the alcoholic drinks are expensive. In Moorea, we did this and saved so much money by having our own bottles, which they did not care if we drank in our room, at the pool, etc.
Why did you decide to work with Smitten Honeymoons?
We wanted to work with Smitten Honeymoon after our first email exchange with Amy! She made it apparent right away that we were in good hands and put off such a great vibe of giving personal attention versus a larger travel corporation. We could tell the level of detail would be so much greater, and Amy had great feedback and advice along the way too.
What did you enjoy (or not enjoy) about the process of working with Smitten Honeymoons?
Apart from the information above, we were blown away by the number of options Amy always provided us. She never once complained or acted annoyed when we asked to change something (for the 17th time haha)! We were also so surprised and thankful when Amy sent us a gift on our engagement anniversary. That was incredibly sweet and thoughtful! Speaking of gifts, we greatly appreciated Amy’s ability to get us upgrades/gifts/extra attention throughout the trip from each hotel or manager. I think that goes a long way.
